Love Out Loud

Ten years ago, I spent time in Sedona, AZ for a continuing education class. I book-ended my studies with a few extra days for exploring the surrounding red rock beauty of the desert southwest. During a hike a man passed out hearts he had carved from local stones, offering his unique gesture of love to those willing to receive.

Looking back, I realize this was how he chose to love out loud.

While I am a big proponent of demonstrating love, I have one caveat: the energy from which we rain love into the world often matters more than the love itself! Empty love will not nourish anyone. If you're feeling depleted or over-extended right now, open your palms to receive love and draw that energetic warmth toward your own heart for a while.

When your love cup feels fuller, it's time to love out loud!

My friend Kim takes photos of hearts she sees in nature and posts them on her social media pages. When I see a heart outside, I send her a snapshot.

My Instagram feed has recently been filled with images of the most adorable crafts my friend Sarah makes out of empty toilet paper rolls. Sarah has created an entire menagerie of cuteness, spreading joy and love through art.

Loving out loud can also look like...

  • delivering homemade soup and a note to an overwhelmed friend
  • texting someone to thank them for their presence in your life
  • sending snail mail to someone who lives alone and feels forgotten
  • telling people about a service or healing provider who does good work and makes your life easier
  • sending a few dollars to a charity near and dear to your soul

This month, let's make a love ruckus!

I'll start: I love you all!

xo,

Jennifer (she/her)

Feel the love with me in a yoga class, via coaching, or during a holistic massage.
