feel good in your body

Helping you feel good in your body is my passion.

In the "before days" of 2018, I committed to a full year of photo documenting my life's simple pleasures on social media.

Without fail, for 365 days, I captured an image of something that made me feel good.

There were lots of food and coffee related posts, cuz y'all know how much I love a colorful dish packed with flavor and an exquisitely brewed cup of java.

Other joy bombs? Peonies from my garden. My feet being massaged and tootsie toes painted blushing pink by a pedicurist. Soft serve ice cream cones caked in rainbow sprinkles from the roadside stand I worked at in high school.

I could go on, but every moment I paused to stop and savor the little things felt so sweet in my body!

My project funneled joy out into the world nourished me with dopamine boosts!

In the early months of the pandemic, my friend Turtle and I sat on my deck (properly distanced, of course) and dove deep into conversation about why pleasure matters. They've since introduced me to incredible activists and thought leaders whose life's work is to help humans value and love themselves, to find what feels good, to embody how they want to feel in the midst of the daily triggers we are all being hit with.

Turtle also looked at me with love, as they are so prone to do, and said, "Jen, YOU are a pleasure activist!"

At first, the word "activist" jolted me. Me?? An ACTIVIST? Aren't activists out on the streets with signs fighting the establishment? How could I, a person who at that time had NEVER gone to a protest march or cause gathering, be an activist?

Turtle and I talked it through and they're right: I AM a pleasure activist!

The way I live and work is rooted in doing what feels light in my body. Feeling buoyant and connected to myself brings me pleasure! When I feel good in my own skin, I can share that energy with those around me.

For me, embracing pleasure is what resources me enough to handle the next round of racist hate crime, transphobia, threats to women's health care, and all the other dark forces conspiring to make us feel bad.

Feeling good is a birthright. Helping you feel good in your body is my passion.

Here's a couple ways I lend heart and hands to you to support your feel-better journey:

  • Massage therapy. My online calendar shows my availability for the next 60 days. Though I won't be in the office every weekend, I added some Saturday appointments if that feels easier for you to manage with full-time work. Book your massage appointments here. My rates are $150 for 60 minutes and $225 for 90. **If you need grace around pricing, I am willing to negotiate with you so that we both feel supported.**
  • Yoga for Perimenopause & Menopause. This virtual yoga class meets weekly on Monday evenings at 7:30 pm ET. (No class May 23 as I'll be away.) It is NOT an energy boosting, pose-heavy class because what most women in menopause transition tell me they need is help slowing down, building self-acceptance and connection to their changing bodies, and practices to help with all the challenges of this time in life. Register here. $20 per class. I also offer 5 and 10 class packs. **If you can't attend live, but are interested, I can record the session for you. Register, pay, and email me to request the recording.**
  • Weekend Gentle Yoga Flow. This class is open to all genders, all levels and meets on line Saturdays at 9:00 am ET. Find description and register here. $20 and package credits can also be used to book. **If you can't attend live, but are interested, I can record the session for you. Register, pay, and email me to request the recording.**
  • Private Yoga Sessions. You get 100% of my time and attention during a practice uniquely crafted to your needs. Virtual and in person sessions are available.

Take time today to find what feels good. Keep it small, keep it simple.

And remember, you are 100% deserving of pleasure.

Love you,
Jennifer (she/her)
