Anyone else feeling a bit touch-deprived these days?

Touch is so vital to our wellbeing and this prolonged pandemic, with it's many layers of restriction, has taken a toll on so many of us, myself included.

I miss hugs, partner salsa dancing, and intimate sexual touch with another human.

Thankfully, I have kids at home every other week and a few fully vaccinated friends with whom hugs feel delish! Still, there are too many moments when I deeply long for touch from others and simply cannot receive.

My hacks? More self touch. Loving, sweet, sensual touch. Self-massage with foam rollers. Long foot soaks and rubs with rich lotion. My cat is also the recipient of extra petting these days and most of the time he doesn't shun my hands.

To help you savor your sense of touch, I recorded an 8-minute guided self-massage video for you. Find a quiet space to sit. If you have an essential oil you enjoy, grab it. Maybe light a candle. Let this be a luxurious respite during your day or closer to bedtime.

Lovingly receive your own touch. It really does make a difference (and there's science to back it, but I'm not going there today!).
