"I'm too young to be old and too old to be young"

In my 20+ years as a holistic wellness pro, I know that creating healthy, accessible habits is a game changer whether you’re a teenager, an elder, or riding the “too young to be old and too old to be young” wave with Evelyn Couch in “Fried Green Tomatoes.”
In the movie, Evelyn is navigating the ups and downs of the ultimate liminal life space for humans born with uterine systems, a time wrought with endless shifts that can throw pretty much everything into a tailspin.
The medical community calls this life phase perimenopause, "the time before menses ceases."
I call this phase the longest, most agonizing going on over 15 years of inner- and outer-body chaos! Threshold of HELL anyone?
Turns out I'm in good company. I surveyed and interviewed slews of vulva owners lately and heard tales that split my heart further open and made me belly laugh (thankfully without peeing myself!) like nobody's business.
Here’s what I know to be true: women in perimenopause want to look AND FEEL their best despite the body and mind challenges of midlife change.
They want “to embrace their sagging bits” while building physical strength.
They want to retrain their hamster-wheelie minds to focus on one. thought. at. a. time!
They’re “exhausted all the time because they can’t sleep at night” as they sweat through their sheets or muddle through 2 am bouts of insomnia.
As a yoga teacher, massage therapist, and coach who herself is in the throes of perimenopause, I know that the self-awareness, nervous system downregulation, daily stress management, and confidence-building benefits of body mind practices can be a balm to what ails me.
They can be for you, too!
As a result of some totally on fire interviews, I was hella inundated with requests for a yoga class devoted to midlife wellness for women.

I have added “Yoga for Perimenopause & Menopause” to my virtual yoga class schedule, starting Monday May 2 @ 7:30 pm ET.
Practices and embodied learning will aim to build self-acceptance despite the challenges of this time in life and will focus on:
and more, all wrapped up with mindfulness and care.
You can register on my website. By all means, invite a hot flashy friend to join you!
Over the coming weeks and months, I'll be announcing more new offerings that I hope will help women who are peri- and postmenopausal live with grace, self-love, and a dash of humor.
